European
Petrochemical Industry (IPE)
The IPE Service provides a detailed and timely analysis of the European
Petrochemical Industry supported by a full consultancy service.
Annual Survey
|
|

|
| IPE is recognised as the most authoritative and comprehensive information
source on the petrochemical industry in Europe. The IPE set of five reports
covers the full spectrum of the industry, from the six major base petrochemicals -
ethylene, propylene and butadiene for the olefins, and benzene, toluene and mixed xylenes
for the aromatics, to all major derivative markets. |
|
Product Coverage
The Olefins report covers Ethylene, Propylene and Butadiene and all their major
derivatives. The Aromatics report covers Benzene, Toluene and Xylenes and all their major
derivatives. For full product coverage click here.
Publications
The IPE Service comprises four volumes. Two volumes contain statistical
tables which provide a quick and easy to use statistical reference (in terms of
capacity, production, trade and consumption) to give clients an early appreciation of
product balances for the previous year.
Database: At the heart of the
statistical compendium is a proprietary database maintained and updated regularly in the
Milan head-office. Reporting for each product on a country-by-country basis, the annual
time-series details producing capacity by company, site, and feedstock route; total
capacity (by route), production (by route), historical import/export and consumption by
major end-use for each country.
Time Scale: An eleven year time-series
is presented in the statistical compendium. The series begins with the historical
reference year 1990; years 995 and 1996 cover the most recent history; the latest actual
year 1997; and projections cover the period 1998-2002 with outpost forecast years of 2005
and 2010
The two remaining volumes of the IPE Service comprise an Industry Review and a detailed Product Review.
Industry Review : is designed to
communicate current and projected data for the olefins and aromatics industries in an
illustrative and explanatory manner. This section should be of particular help to market
researchers, planning personnel and product managers who require to utilize information in
marketing and strategic planning reports in a style that is interpretive and easily
assimilated. The Industry Review considers the evolution of the industry and provides an
overview of major developments at the feedstock, country, company and site levels. It is
arranged in four sections :
- Section I : Industry Overview presents an analysis of the recent
changes at an industry-wide level and how these have impacted general industry operations.
- Section II & V : Overview of Industry Operations presents detailed analysis
of the industry with particular attention to fundamental features of each of the main
building blocks (Olefins : Ethylene, Propylene and Butadiene; and Aromatics : Benzene,
Toluene and Xylenes). The analysis focuses on the structure of the industry basis with
specific reference to developments in individual countries. Special focus is given to how
historical and forecast demand growth, new investment, feedstock availability and pricing,
technology changes and import/export balances are likely to influence and determine future
regional developments.
- Section III & VI : Producers presents a concise profile for the selected
principle petrochemical companies summarizing their product slates, market share and
production locations.
- Section IV & VII : Operating Sites presents regional/site/country/pipeline
balances in a series of tables with associated location maps to serve as a summary of site
configurations for the major petrochemical producing regions of Europe.
Product Review : consists of an analysis
of the market data reported for all the main derivatives of the basic petrochemicals. For
each product sector, the analysis follows the general sequence : Summary : illustrates the
regional balance by country for the most recent historical year followed by a regional
summary of recent historical and projected evolution for the forecast period.
Capacity/Production : provides in graphical and tabular format details on the market in
terms of Capacity Structure, Share by Producer, Upstream and Downstream Integration and
breakdown of the Captive/Merchant market. Trade : presents detailed country-by-country
analysis of trade flows for the most recent historical year together with historical and
projected regional trade flows between Europe and the rest of the world. Consumption :
presents regional consumption breakdown by major end-use, market analysis and main factors
in projected market trends. Producer Listings : presents a complete listing by country of
all producing and/or consuming companies together with an outline of existing facilities
and future plans.
The Consulting Service
Client Support : multi-client services
incorporate an open dialogue service for all products contained within the report. This
service runs for the 12 month subscription period whereby consultants are available to
answer client queries through oral or written material or by personal meeting. We endeavor
to meet with our clients, generally at their offices, to present PTM's correct industry
analysis, at least once during the subscription period.
