ATEC.NET
Petroleum and Petrochemical
Interactive Database
via WEB

What is ATEC.NET?

ATEC.NET is the web-based version of ATEC, our computer based package.

Why ATEC.NET?

The advantages of ATEC.NET are that it will give real time access to our on-going updates in addition to the regular "frozen" balanced updates (currently sent via CD Rom) and it allows direct access via the internet from any location without creating firewall problems. In addition, the new software technology that we are using allows us to directly link into ATEC.NET modeling routines and to add access to our short term (monthly) data base which monitors trade, production and prices.

In addition to all ATEC and GEMS routines (SD and price data bases), when fully developed, ATEC.NET will allow access to modeling routines (including LP routines) which will generate cost curves, optimize trade flows based on lowest market delivered cost/highest supplier return, evaluate returns and/or optimum configuration for operating complexes and undertake "what-if" analysis in real time.

Database Coverage

The database includes information on country statistics and company producing plants. Historical data series begin in 1978 and PTM Consulting Group forecast future market trends. Items covered are:

  1. Energy and Petroleum Products statistics
  2. NGL industry statistics
  3. Petrochemical Feedstock statistics
  4. Refining Capacities
  5. Petrochemicals: olefins, aromatics, intermediates, plastics and fibres (overall more than 100 products)

The data elements contained in the source plant files include full details on individual units: operator, location, feedstock, technology, licensor, start-up date and yearly capacity time series.

Elements in the statistical file include information on country import/export flows, production/demand statistics and feedstock requirements.

System support files provide details on other items, such as: operating sites, geographical area composition, company ownership, financial groups, process technology and licensor.

How can we access ATEC.NET?

Anybody from anywhere may access this system. You just need a computer connected to the internet and a last-generation browser (Internet Explorer 5.x and above). To evaluate the system, please ask us by filling the ATEC.NET subscription application. Note that because it is a web based system using an SQL server, there are no "fire wall" problems.

If you just want to take a tour, enter our ATEC.NET demo site.

We would be interested in your comments on the ease of access and user friendliness of ATEC.NET.

How can we integrate ATEC.NET in our system?

We plan to offer ATEC.NET in parallel to the existing ATEC services with no increase in subscription rates.

PTM Consulting Group provides full assistance for input from other data sources.

Finally, if you wish to add your own data/information base to the same platform, we can offer database hosting through our US partner "Thunder Communications" who have been offering web hosting facilities/services for the last 10 years and therefore, have significant experience in this field.
